Yesterday’s masterclass workshop with pro-makeup artist Jane Wilson – The Makeup Lowdown – featured the best of Bodyography’s cosmetics and makeup tools. I’ll be talking about my experience, a bit about the brand itself and share with you a few images from the #FinnisAndFaye Bodyography Cosmetics event.
The day kicked off early as I arrived sometime after 9am at the breathtaking Mondiall Bar and Restaurant, located in the V&A Waterfront, Cape Town. I was welcomed by Megan from Exposed By Her PR and immediately offered some of the best coffee I’ve tasted in Cape Town and then introduced myself to some of the other media attendees.
Once everyone had arrived, we were ushered by Megan and Michelle (owner of Exposed By Her PR) in to Mondiall’s private dining and conference room – an intimate but generous space that overlooks the Victoria Wharf harbor. We found our seats, each equipped with an individual makeup station, complete with disposable makeup applicators, makeup wipes and a double-sided mirror stand.
A Bodyography cosmetics product list and guide manual was also provided to help us follow along during the workshop – with extensive information pertaining to the individual products used during the class as well as the Bodyography range in its entirety. I am still amazed at how skin-friendly their makeup is and can’t wait to invest in their products.
At the end of Jane’s class, we were given goodybags and the best part was the empty quad palettes we were given, which we were then allowed to fill with our own choice of shadows and blushes. I chose a bronze shimmery shadow called, Sun Ray, a light brown matte shadow – great for contouring on fair skin tones – called Truffle, a gorgeous iridescent shadow called Devoted, and the last shadow I picked is a rich and vibrant blusher for fair-medium tones.
I cannot wait to try out this palette for a day-to-night makeup look, which I will definitely be sharing on the blog soon – and along with it some of the useful tips and techniques shared in the workshop. If you can’t wait until then, I currently have a makeup look up on the blog from my Essence Cosmetics haul, which you can see here.
Once again, a special thank you to Mondiall for being such great hosts as well as for all the delicious treats and eats to keep us going as we intently followed the workshop – thank you! To Megan and Michelle at Exposed By Her PR – thank you for organizing such a great event and for having me there to enjoy it along with all the other incredible media persons. Lastly, a big thumbs-up to Bodyography Cosmetics for creating cruelty-free products that also boast refined and innovative ingredients for makeup and skin-lovers. To Jane, thank you for sharing your incredible talent with us, and for your time.
