For the first time in 4 years I’ve had to start thinking about my office wardrobe, and more importantly, my signature summer uniform. Now that I’ve graduated from university and entered the working world, there’s definitely more pressure to look polished and poised on a daily basis. Whether I’ve scheduled meetings, or have errands to run, it’s important that I feel good in what I’m wearing, while breezing through even the hottest summer days.
As someone whose wardrobe consists almost entirely of non-color pieces, it was inevitable that I’d opt for a monochromatic shirt and skirt duo, pairing this look with masculine silver-wear like my Tempo wristwatch and grommet-inspired bracelet. Not one to embrace the discomfort of running around on heels all-day, I made the decision to invest in these black kitten-heel mules which slide on easily, and hug the foot comfortably while looking stylishly put-together.
As the weather changes, I’d most likely switch out my wrap skirt for tailored black slacks, while a structured leather jacket worn over the shoulders would make this look perfect for evening dinner and drinks. If you’re one of those people who find it difficult keeping white clothing squeaky clean, invest in two-three white breezy shirts or crew-neck tees with a structured fit which work great for rotating throughout the week.
